Bone Files

Howard Bone File

This file is used after cutting a tooth to remove any small points that remain or to file down bone that may extrude from a removed tooth’s socket. It has two different heads (one coarse, one fine and slightly larger) to provide the exact degree of abrasion required. Overall length is 7" and the heads are 3/16" wide by 1/2" long. Stainless steel, German made..

Miller Bone File

This file is used under the same conditions as the Howard File. However, it has larger and coarser heads. One head is concave with the file side on the outer curve. The other head is flat and slightly angled. Overall length is 7 5/8", head width is 1/4", head lengths are 3/4" (straight) and 1 1/2" (curved). Stainless steel, German made.

Canine Cutter

These are a reproduction of an instrument made in the early 1900's by Haussman & Dunn Instrument Company of Chicago.  In addition to cutting canine teeth they may also be used to cut small incisors. They are made of stainless steel and are approximately 10" long.

Bone and Tissue Nippers

For trimming excess bone and tissue from an extracted tooth’s socket.  Two grades are available, a standard economy grade and and a premium German grade.  The Economy grade is 5 1/4" long; the Premium grade is 6 1/4" long and its jaws open wider. Both are stainless steel.

Chisels

Hibbs Chisels

These chisels are used to remove small pieces of tooth or bone that remain in an extracted tooth's socket. They are ideal for smoothing-out jagged edges in the lower alveolus after removing an impacted wolf tooth or to loosen a small tooth before extraction. The small, delicate size enables accurate placement to minimize the amount of tooth removed and prevent injury to soft tissue area.

Two styles are available - straight and slightly curved at the head. Both have a blade width of 1/2" (12mm) and are 9" long. Stainless steel, German made.

Gerzog Orthopedic Mallet

For striking chisels and osteotomes.  The hollow handle with a lead-filed head minimizes shock and vibration insuring a smooth, even striking force on the chisel. The handle is 18cm (7 1/4") long. Head size is 25 x 35mm; weight is 16 ounces. German made.

Trephines and Punches

Horsley's Trephine is made of stainless steel and has a detachable handle. It is available in three sizes: 1/2" (13mm), 3/4" (19mm) and 1" (25mm). 

These Punches (or Tooth Repellers) are made of hardened stainless steel. They are available in two styles - straight and slightly offset. Both have a round head with a slight recessed area that fits onto the tooth. The are approximately 8" long and have a knurled handle for a better grip.
